Kali karpura stava is powerful stotra like Saundarya Lahari .
We will see verses one by one . Prayogas can not be revealed here . For that you have to take deeksha .
It's 22 verse stotra explaining 22 letter mantra of Kali .
कर्पूरं मध्यमान्त्यस्वरपररहितं सेन्दुवामाक्षियुक्तं,
बीजं ते मातरेतत् त्रिपुरहरवधु त्रिःकृतं ये जपन्ति।
तेषां गद्यानि पद्यानि च मुखकुहरादुल्लसन्त्येव वाचः
स्वच्छन्दं ध्वान्तधाराधररुचिरुचिरे सर्वसिद्धि गतानाम् , ॥१ ॥
Translation--
After removing middle & end letters in word ( कर्पूर ) karpura and adding long ikara with bindu , Mother , your beeja (seed letter ) is formed O dark like cloud , wife of Tripurahara Shankara . Those who form the mantra by repeating it three times and then chant , get the vaaksiddhi (power of true speech ) & success in poetry , arts and music
Verse 2
ईशानाःसेन्दुवामश्रवणपरिगतो बीजमन्यन्महेशि,
द्वन्द्वं ते मन्दचेता यदि जपति जनो वारमेकं कदाचित्।
जित्वा वाचामधीशं धनदमपिचिरं मोहयन्नम्बुजाक्षि,
वृन्दं चन्द्रार्धचूड़े प्रभवति स महाघोरशावावतशे ॥२ ॥
Translation --
This verse describes koorcha beeja .
Adding long u to letter ha with bindu on top second beeja of your mantra is formed O lotus eyed one !
Even dumb person , if makes the mantra by repeating this beeja twice and then chants , gets all ghosts , demons , negative energies away from him and gets success in wealth & speech , O the one who is making thunderous sounds with half moon over the head !
This has prayoga to remove spirits from body & homes .
Verse 3
ईशौ वैश्वानरस्थः शशधरविलसद् वामनेत्रणयुक्तो,
बीजं ते द्वन्द्वमन्यद्विगलितचिकुरे कालिके ये जपन्ति ।।
द्वेष्टारं ध्नन्ति ते च त्रिभुवनमभितो वश्यभावं नयन्ति,
सृक्कद्वन्द्वास्रधाराद्वयधरवदने दक्षिणे कालिकेति ॥३ ॥
Translation --
Here Maya beeja is explained
O Dakshin Kalika , with face having blood of wild boar dripping on both the lips , after forming seed letter by double ha , ra , bindu moon with long i , those who chant the mantra which has above double seed letter while releasing double of semen & pubic hair , they get rid of their enemies and rule over the three worlds
Here everything is double . Offering of semen with hair is indicated . It has multiple meanings with situations . Also animal sacrifice is connected with this prayoga .
Verse 4
ऊध्वं वामे कृपाणं करकमलतले छिन्नमण्डं ततोऽधः,
सव्येऽभीति वरंच त्रिजगदघहरे दक्षिणे कालिके च।
जप्त्वैतन्नाम ये वा तव विमलतनुं भावयन्त्येतदम्ब,
तेषामष्टौ करस्था प्रकटित रदने सिद्धयस्त्र्यम्बकस्य ॥४॥
Translation--
Here after explaining 3 seed letters , now nama mantra is described
Who holds sward in upper left hand & beheaded head in lower left , by upper right hand she gives protection & by lower right hand blessings . O remover of sins of three worlds , Dakshin Kalika , one who chants this nama mantra by mediating on your this form , gets famous eight siddhis of tryambaka shiva .
Here one should understand importance of chanting along with visualization . Form of deity should appear in the mind along with mantra chanting . Reason for any siddhi is Devata darshan . Darshan is long process after dharana & dhyana . But first you have to imagine the form until real form appears .
Verse 5
वर्गाद्यं वन्हिसंस्थं विधुरतिवलितं तत्त्रयं कूर्चयुग्मम्,
लज्जाद्वन्द्वंच पश्चात् स्मितमुखि तदधष्ठद्वयंयोजयित्वा।
मातर्येवा जपन्ति स्मरहरमहिले भावयन्तः स्वरूपम्,
ते लक्ष्मीलास्य लीला कमलदलदृशाकामरूपाः भवन्ति ॥५ ॥
Translation --
Here Navakshari Kali mantra formation & it's prayoga explained .
Three times first beeja , two times koorcha beeja then two times maya beeja and finally beeja of wife of fire god . O Smiling Mother , who chant this mantra , O wife of winner of lust , their eyes become eyes of lotus eyed Laxmi who with erotic glance fulfill the wishes where their sight falls .
Chanting of this navakshari for Vashikaran Prayog , to increase power of eyes , to gain power of Shaktipat etc are many applications of this verse .
Verse 6
प्रत्येकं वा द्वयं वा त्रयमपिचपरंबीजमत्यन्तगुप्तं,
तन्नाम्नायोजयित्वासकलमपिसदाभावयन्तोजपन्ति।
तेषांनेत्रारविन्दे विहरति कमलावक्त्रशुभ्रांशुबिम्बे,
वाग्देवीदेवि मुण्डस्रगतिशयलसत्कंठपीनस्तनाढ्ये ॥६ ॥
Translation --
This verse gives different permutations of above 3 beejas along with nama mantra . In mantra shastra , this is called Samputikaran .
O Dakshin Kalike whose neck and bosom is adorned with garland of blood dripling severed heads , one who chants the mantra by combining your every secret seed letter once or twice or thrice with your name or chants whole together , Laxmi sees through his eyes , Saraswati speaks through his tongue .

Like this 22 combinations can be made and used for prayoga . Some say each of this mantra is of different form of Kali .
That's true . But that only for prayoga . Beejas of kali are same . Also Kali addressed in this Stotra is from Gauda & Kerala desh . She is from Dakshinamnaya but later mixed with Tibetan practices and finally developed as outer worship in Bengal .
But her root mantras are from Dakshinamnaya . Her original kshetra is also Kerala , Dramila and Simhala dweepa . In Bengal she became famous in recent centuries .
Also important point to be noted that Kalis of Abhinava gupta or that of Kashmir krama ( Guhyakali , Kala Sankarshini ) are totally different in form and mantra . They come under Uttaramnaya .
Verse 7
गतासूनां बाहुप्रकट कृतकांची परिलसत
नितम्बो दिग्वस्त्रां त्रिभुवन विधात्री त्रिनयनाम्।
श्मशानस्थे तल्पे शवहृदि महाकालसुरता
प्रसक्तां त्वां ध्यायन् जननि जड़चेता अपि कविः।।७।।
Translation -
This verse describes dhyana for Kali & process of one of Vamachara Sadhana . Most teachers of Vedanta / yoga interpreted this verse in Kundalini rising ( which it has nothing to do with it ) or Brahma Maya Jeeva symbolism . One can derive any meaning from any verse as andha gaja nyaya . And I am totally against interpreting every process as Kundalini awakening or chakras or ego senses atma brahma etc ..
Here is the actual translation
O Mother ! Even idiot will become great poet if he sees you having erotic pleasure with Mahakala as you ride top on him in sexual union , when he is lying on bed of dead body in cremation ground with you without clothes just wearing
girdle of hands of dead ones .
Here deep secrets are indicated about duti, posture , asana , peetha and ornaments for sacrifice for prayogas for Kavitva & Vaak Siddhi .
Verse 8
शिवाभि: घोराभिः शवनिवहमुण्डास्थिनिकरै:
परं संकीर्णायां प्रकटितचितायां हरवधूम्।
प्रविष्टां सन्तुष्टामुपरिसुरतेनातितुष्टाम्
सदा त्वां ध्यायन्ति क्वचिदपि न तेषां परिभवः ॥८ ॥
Translation --
This is another dhyana of Dakshina Kalika while chanting the mantra .
Those who visualise you wife of Shiva , surrounded by ferocious jackals with skull , bones of dead ones , who in fire of funeral pyre enjoying the sexual pleasure while riding on the top , they will never get defeated .
Verse 9
वदामस्ते किं वा जननि वयमुच्चैर्जडधियो,
नधाता नापीशो न हरिरपि नते वेत्ति परमम् ।।
तथापि त्वत्भक्तिर्मुखरयति चास्माकं असिते,
तदेतत् क्षन्तव्यं न खलु पशुरोषः समुचितः ॥९ ॥
Translation --
This is prayer for forgiveness from Mahakala himself . As till now it was description of mantra and dhyana . From next verse onwards , prayoga part starts . So before that , smart Mahakala is doing kshama prarthana of Kali .
He says , even brahma, shiva and vishnu are not able to understand you fully then O Mother , how we ignorant people will understand you . But we love you and try to describe you in our idiotic ways . Forgive us , its not right for you to punish animals like us .
What a superb and smart prayer for forgiveness . Similar prayer verses you can see in Adi Sankara's Devi Kshamaparadha pranayan stotra and in his Saundarya lahari . In marathi prayer to Dattareya , शांत हो श्री गुरुदत्ता , Sannyasi Tembe swami asks for forgiveness in similar fashion . Many similar verses are there in Kalidasa's Panchastavi .
Being honest and knowing our Pashutva or Animal state is first step in any Sadhana .
Always ask for forgiveness to Deity and never be arrogant of knowledge is the essence of this verse
Verse 10
समन्तादापीनस्तनजघनदृग्यौवनवती,
रतासक्तो नक्तं यदि जपति भक्तस्तव मनुम्।
विवासास्त्वां ध्यायन गलित: चिकुरस्तस्य वशगा:
समस्ताः सिद्धौघा भुवि चिरतरं जीवति कविः ॥१० ॥
Translation -
This is verse of Bhairavi Chakra puja .
One who worships you while chanting your mantra when he is enjoying pleasure in the night with beautiful young woman with full bosom & large hips who has eagerness in her eyes , gets the Siddhi and lives forever as poet .
This puja is secret . How the offering is done , time , place of puja is not revealed . That should be known from your own Sampradaya Guru . Only those who are initiated in Kali Mahavidya has right to do this puja .
Some Dakshinachari practitioners , do this puja with wife . But they miss the secret of this puja . Bhairavi chakra is not man woman sex . Then every couple will get siddhi if they chant mantra .
With whom you are doing this is most important .

Verse 11
समाः स्वस्थीभूतां जपति विपरीतां यदि सदा,
विचिन्त्य त्वां ध्यायन्नतिशय महाकालसुरताम्।
तदा तस्य क्षोणीतलविहरमाणस्य विदुषः,
कराम्भोजे वश्या हरवधु महासिद्धि निवहाः ॥११ ॥
Translation --
This is also one prayog in smashana kalika . This is Sadhana after achieving orgasm in Bhairavi puja .
Those who meditate on you , the wife of Shiva, as you relaxed after deep orgasm with love play with Mahakala , such worshipers gain Mahasiddhis in their hand even though they roam in outer material world freely
Again deep secret prayoga here ..
Verse 12
प्रसूते संसारं जननि जगतीं पालयति वा
समस्तं क्षित्यादि प्रलयसमये संहरति च।
अतस्त्वं धाताऽपि त्रिभुवनपतिः श्रीपतिरपि
महेशोऽपि प्रायः सकलमपि किं स्तौमि भवतीम् ॥12॥
Translation --
You give birth to world , you look after and govern it and at the end you destroy it . For this , even Brahma , Vishnu & Shiva can not praise you enough then what mortals like us can describe you ?
Glory of Kali can not be described in few words . But still poets try .
There are beautiful Stotras which helps in knowledge & Sadhana both . And you will find huge commentary literature on these Stotras . Panchastavi of Kalidasa has 12000 verses commentary from Kashmir . Saundaryalahari of Adi Sankara has almost 50 commentaries on it . Out of it 9 are published .
Then Tripura Mahimna Stava of Durvasa . Then this Kali Karpura Stava , Matangi Dandaka , Mahishasurmardini Stotra , Uma Sahasram of Ganpati Muni are few such powerful stotras
Verse 13
अनेके सेवन्ते भवदधिक गीर्वाणनिवहा
विमूढास्ते मात: किमपि न हि जानन्ति परमम्।
समाराध्यां आद्यां हरि हर विरञ्च्यादि विबुधैः
प्रपन्नोऽस्मि स्वैरं रतिरस महानन्द निरताम् ॥ 13 ॥
Translation --
Many learnt in Sanskrit , worship multiple deities other than you , they are senseless , not know the supreme .
One who is worshiped by great three gods , I too worship that first one who is infront of me as bliss which comes from free sexual pleasure without any limit .
Secret of Kaulas is told in this verse . Here there are two meanings . Sexual pleasure that comes from physical union with man or woman and pleasure comes from union of kundalini with kameshwara in Sahasrara Chakra . Both is same pleasure , difference is just intensity & time span .
Samadhi Sukham is also same as Rati Sukham experienced much longer .
Verse 14
धरित्री कीलालं शुचिरपि समीरोऽपि गगनं
त्वमेका कल्याणी गिरिशरमणी कालि सकलम्।
स्तुति: का ते मात: निजकरुणया मामगतिकं
प्रसन्ना त्वं भूया भवमनुनभूयान्मम जनुः ॥ 14 ॥
Translation --
Mother , you only are earth , water , fire , air and space . You auspicious one , are everything O Kali , then how your praise will be different than you ?
Bless me with your compassion so I will not experience any more birth in this world
In Saundarya Lahari too similar verse is found
मनस्त्वं व्योम त्वं मरुदसि मरुत्सारथिरसि
त्वमापस्त्वं भूमिस्त्वयि परिणतायां न हि परम् ।
त्वमेव स्वात्मानं परिणमयितुं विश्ववपुषा
चिदानन्दाकारं शिवयुवति भावेन बिभृषे ||35||
Many parallels in both these stotras in emotion , prayogas and philosophy
Verse 15
श्मशानस्थ: स्वस्थो गलितचिकुरो दिक्पटधरः
सहस्रं त्वर्काणां निजगलित वीर्येण कुसुमम्।
जपं त्वत् प्रत्येकं मनुमपि तव ध्याननिरतो
महाकालि स्वैरं स भवति धरित्री परिदृढः ॥ 15 ॥
Translation--
From here prayoga part starts of already revealed mantras in earlier verses .
One who is healthy , naked , open haired , dips flower of Arka plant in his own ejaculated semen , and offers in fire in cremation ground with changing of your mantra thousand times , O Mahakali becomes ruler of the land .
This is sarva jana vashikaran prayog .
Veerya or semen is known as Shukra or Ghrita . Ghrita increases Shukra in man .
In Dakshin achara , flower is dipped in cow ghrita ie clarified butter .
In Vamachara , instead of animal ghrita , human ghrita ie semen is used .
Similar prayog are there in which woman's orgasmic fluid or menstrual blood is used for homa .
Obviously these are very dangerous prayogas and can be done with proper deeksha and kavach .
Similar prayog are mentioned in other tantras too
In Vishvasara Tantra
श्मशानस्थो भवेत्स्वस्थो गलितं चिकुरं चरेत्।
दिगम्बरः सहस्रंच सहस्रंच सूर्यपुष्पं समानयेत्।
स्ववीर्ययुतं कृत्वा प्रत्येकं प्रजपन् स च ॥
In Kali Tantra too
स्वरेतोऽभ्यक्तपत्रेणाप्यर्कस्यैव सहस्रशः।
श्मशानेऽभ्यर्चयेद्देवीं सर्वसिद्धि: स विन्दति ।।
Arka or Mandara plant is associated with Ravi or Sun . In Tantra , Ravi is kamakala formed from Agni & Soma .
So any object which represents Ravi is Kamakala karaka .
So Arka flower , Palash flower , Cow milk , Cow ghrita , human semen , morning rising Sun , number 1 , 100 , 1000 or 1 29 , chaturdashi tithi ... Like all these are connected by mysterious occult science of Sambandha Shastra .
Verse 16
गृहे सम्मार्जन्या परिगलितवीर्यहि चिकुरम्,
समूलंमध्याह्न वितरति चितायां कुजदिने।
समुच्चार्य प्रेम्णा मनुमपिसकृत् कालि सततम्,
गजारूढ़ो याति क्षितिपरिवृढ़ः सत्कविवर।।१६ ।।
Translation --
This is very controversial verse and has hardcore vamachara in this .
On Tuesday noon in cremation ground who offers in fire , his own semen with pubic hair ejaculated and collected after sex with house maid , with your mantra
Becomes powerful like king & becomes very blessed poet
Tuesday afternoon in funeral pyre is all connected with Agni tatwa .
Now why house maid and not wife or own Shakti .
Here are some secrets are there which are not for Pashus . Only veera can understand it .
But one should remember , in earlier verse translation , I said cast , race , color , profession , body type , age etc are selecting factors for Shakti for Prayoga . Different prayogas have different eligibility criteria .
Here .. possibly in Bengal , cast of housemaids was very particular or may be Kulanganas were doing this job .
These practices of Tantras are not for middle class minded people . Either Rich or those aspire to become rich only should enter this cremation ground .
Kulachudamani Tantra also has similar prayoga
नखं केशं स्ववीर्यम् च यद्यत् सम्मार्जनीगतं,
मुक्तकेशो दिगावासो मूलमंत्रपुरःसरम्।
कुजवारे मध्यरात्री जुहुयाद्वा श्मशानके।
Here nakham means blood from scratch marks during love making
Verse 17
सुपुष्पराकीर्णम् कुसुमधनुषोमन्दिरमहो।
पुरो ध्यायन् ध्यायन् जपति यदि भक्तस्तवमनुम् ।।
सगन्धर्वश्रेणीपतिरिव कवित्वामृतनदी।
नदीनः पर्यन्ते परमपदलीनः प्रभवति ॥१७ ॥
Translation --
This is Yoni trataka prayoga after Yoni Puja .
One who meditates on menstruating yoni with chanting your mantra , he becomes musician , singer and poet like Gandharva King and gets Moksha after death .
This prayoga is mentioned also in Kamakhya Tantra , Matrika Bheda Tantra and Mahakala Samhita

Verse 18
त्रिपंचारे पीठे शवशिवहृदि स्मेरवदनाम्।
महाकालेनोच्चैर्मदनरसलावण्यनिरताम्।
समासक्तो नक्तं स्वयमपि रतानन्दनिरतो।
जनो यो ध्यायेत्त्वामपि जननि स स्यात् स्मरहरः। १८ ।।
Translation-
O with face of Kama , one who meditate on you as you are enjoying sexual pleasure with Mahakala on dead body peetha of three into five times angles ( inscribed panchadashi yantra on heart of dead body )while he himself naked and enjoying sex , becomes victorious over God of Love like Shiva
Key part is three into five times peetha . It has different meaning . 15 letter mantra , yantra , panchadashi , 15 skulls under the asana .
Verse 19
सलोमास्थि स्वैरं पललमपि मार्जारमसिते,
परं मैषं चौष्ट्रम् नरमहिषयोश्छागमपि वा।
बलि ते पूजायामपिवितरतां मर्त्यवसताम्,
सतां सिद्धिः सर्वा प्रतिपदमपूर्वा प्रभवति ।।१९ ।।
Translation --
This verse is about sacrifice of animals as offering to Dakshin Kali
If meat with hair , bones of free animal like cat , sheep , camel , man , buffalo or not availablity of this then goat is offered in your worship , then your worshiper in this mortal world achieve supernatural powers never achieved before .
Animal sacrifice or human sacrifice has been in practice in the world for thousands of years . Early African cults , babel worshipers , Mexicans , Incas , Indus , Chinese , Tibetan all ancient civilization had this practice . But with progress in worship mode , options are found for these animals ..
Here are the options , they too give equal benefits if offered under proper ritual .
तेन दधुः पशुबलिमनुकल्पं ददत्वपि ॥
कुष्माण्ड पनसालाब कर्कटी बिल्वदाडिमाः ।।
द्राक्षा खजूर लकुच रसालामलजाम्बुकम्।
बलितुल्यानि चैतानि छागतुल्यानि तृप्तिषु ।।
Pumpkin , cucumber , grapes , dates , sugar cane ,big lemon , bilva ,lauki are offered as an option to animal sacrifice .
Also Udid pulse , black tila seeds , coconut are also used as an option .
Note coconut is symbol of human in creation of Rishi Vishvamitra
I am not going into philosophy of a sacrifice . Animal or plant , both have prana in it . And in fact plants have more expressions of prana then animals . This is complicated subject and most Pashus are unfit to understand it . When people do argument based on their fear or weakness , then better not to get into it .
Eating veg or non veg is also related with this topic . Most want to propagate vegetarianism under Spirituality . May be carcinogenic fertilizers are good for them .
Verse 20
वशीलक्षम् मंत्रं प्रजपति हविष्याशनरतो,
दिवा मातर्युष्मच्चरणकमलध्याननिरतः।
परं नक्तं नग्नो निधुवनविनोदेन च मर्नु,
जपेल्लक्षं सम्यक् स्मरहरसमानः क्षितितले ॥२० ॥
Translation --
Without Mantra Siddhi , one can not do prayoga of mantra . Prayoga like vashikaran , uchhatan , marana etc require mantra siddhi . Mantra siddhi comes after completion of Purascharana .
How it should be done is explained in this verse .
Worshiper who has control over senses chants your mantra one lacks while having fasting diet in daytime . In night time he chants one lacks more being naked while enjoying sexual pleasure , becomes ruler on the earth like Shiva .
Dakshinachara in Day time & Vamachara in night time is formula . Some take Japa count as 22 lacs considering 22 letter mantra . For this one's own Guru & tradition guidance should be followed .
Verse 21 & 22
इदं स्तोत्रं मातस्तव मनुसमुद्धारण जपम्
स्वरूपाख्यं पादांबुजयुगल पूजाविधियुतम्।
निशार्धे वा पूजासमयमधि वा यस्तु पठति
प्रलापस्तस्या अपि प्रसरति कवित्वां अमृतरसः॥ 21 ॥
कुरङ्गाक्षीवृन्दं तमनुसरति प्रेमतरलं
वशस्तस्य क्षोणीपतिरपि कुबेर प्रतिनिधिः।
रिपुः कारागरं कलयति च तत्केलिकलया
चिरं जीवन्मुक्तः स भवति सुभक्तः प्रतिजनुः ॥ 22 ॥
॥ इति श्री महाकालविरचितं कालीकर्पूरस्तोत्रं समाप्तम् ॥
Translation -
These last two verses tell benefits or Phalashruri of chanting of this Stotra
O Mother , one who is your Bhakta chants this stotra which contains your mantra , dhyana , paduka mantra ,prayoga methods in midnight or at the time of worship , his crazy looking words will also become truly poetic .
Ladies with eyes like deer will follow him with love for benefits from him , ruler of the land & businesses will be under his commands . His enemies go in jail . And he becomes Jivan mukta ( in contrast vedanti Sannyasi strives his whole life by abandoning pleasures in life ) while enjoying various pleasures of erotica .
Mahakala Samhita says about this stotra
कर्पूराख्यमिदंस्तोत्रं यदुक्तं भवता पुरा।
षट्कर्मसाधनं तस्य प्रयोगं वद शंकर ।।
शिव उवाच-
शृणु देवि प्रवक्ष्यामि कर्पूरस्तवसाधनम्।
सकृत्कृतेऽपि देवेशि काली तुष्टा भवेत्सदा ॥
शनिभौमदिने देवि स्नात्वा प्रयतमानसः।
सम्पूज्य कालिकां देवीं संकल्पं सम्यगाचरेत् ।।
कृत्वा षोढादिकं न्यासं पठेत् स्तोत्रमनुत्तमम्।
अयुतकप्रमाणेन तद्दशांशं हुने सुधीः।
तर्पणं त्वभिषेकं च ब्राह्मणान् भोजयेत्ततः।
पश्चात् स्वकार्यसिद्धयर्थं प्रयोगानाचरेत्सुधीः ।।
प्रयोगमात्रे देवेशि अष्टोत्तरसहस्रकम्।
यो जपेत् सर्वकार्यार्थं कामना भेदभावितः ॥
आकर्षणे बशीकारे मारणोच्चाटने तथा।
राज्ञांभये समुत्पन्ने दुर्भिक्षे प्राणसंकटे ॥
न्यासोत्पत्तौ महेशानि रोगशोकभये तथा।
पठेत् स्तोत्रं महाकाल्याः सर्वशान्ति प्रयच्छति ।।
कुमारीपूजनं चान्ते कर्तव्यं सुसमाहितः।
